Asbestos Waste Management

With the severe health risk associated with hazardous asbestos-containing materials (ACM) from buildings, proper asbestos waste management is vital. Westfield Group are specialists in responsible asbestos collection and management practices across southern England and are licensed contractors in the handling, containment, and disposal of asbestos waste, safeguarding human health and the environment.

Understanding AsbestoS

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral known for its exceptional fire and heat resistance, insulating abilities, and long-term durability. Collectively, these characteristics once made asbestos a popular and favoured material in various industries, including building and home construction, and was commonly used in materials for insulation, pipe lagging, ceiling tiles, and roofing felt.
However, when asbestos is moved or disturbed through demolition or renovation, the microscopic fibres released can cause serious health risks. Inhaling these fibres can lead to chronic diseases and life-threatening conditions such as lung cancer and mesothelioma. To eliminate these dangers, the supply and use of all asbestos materials in the UK has been banned since 1999.

Our expertise in asbestos waste management

Managing asbestos waste demands specialised expertise due to its high toxicity. As such, there are strict compliance regulations involved when we collect asbestos. Ignoring these regulations can bring an unlimited fine and even a potential prison sentence of up to two years.
With over 25 years of experience, Westfield Group understands the complexities of safe handling, containment, and asbestos disposal and offers a bespoke asbestos waste collection service with a responsible and secure approach.
All types of asbestos waste and hazardous material are double-wrapped or double-bagged at your work premises, home, or construction site, and loaded into our dedicated vehicle on a pre-arranged collection date. We then dispose of it at a registered landfill facility or recycling centre for you.
Within seven days of the asbestos disposal at the landfill facility or recycling centre, we’ll send you a copy of the waste consignment note as proof that the asbestos materials have been disposed of correctly.
